Here are my images from London, many of them were done at night and turned into black and white in post. But what makes them so cool is the fact that most of these shots were photographed at ISO 3200 with a really slow shutter speed some at 1/10 of a second. Beyond this technical accomplishment, however, I feel that these images are some of the best i’ve taken in a really long time. I felt totally connected with my environment and had fun just going out and shooting; I think that really shows through with these images.. I am really happy and proud with what I got from there. I got a chance to break away from my busy schedule and escape London for a day. I took the Euro Star through the Channel to Paris. It was an interesting trip with a lot of wonderful opportunities to take some great images. I got some killer shots of the La Louvre at night. Again, the technical behind it, some of the images were taken at ISO 5,000, with shutter speed as low as 1/10 of a second, pushing the camera and technology to the limit, if there is one in this case. By the way I photographed these images exclusively with a Nikon D3 and Nikon lenses. The beauty of the city was great, it would have beee better if I was there with someone. Enjoy the images below.

So WPPI 2009 has come and gone this year at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and let me say that it was truly great this year. All of the talk about the economy down turn didn’t seem to affect this convention with a record number of attendees at around 12,000. It is just amazing. The WPPI convention keeps growing and I am seeing so many firsts there as well. I believe this is the first time that they have had a trade show in two separate full convention centers, so many speakers sold out that the organizer had to do an encore, a wedding vow renewal of WPPI family Jim Gardner for the opening reception, a live concert sponsored by Nikon. Where else can you get everything in one place, education, networking, inspiration, fun, and entertainment, other than WPPI at Vegas. So the highlight images from the convention are below.

Here are a few of my own wrap up.

A Successful Master Class.
So as many of you have heard I had a sold out master class, and what’s even better is that there’re still many more photographers who wanted to take it but couldn’t because it was full. Perhaps, you can come to my class next year or I might be on tour to local affiliates near you.

RGP Keys
I got a chance to meet up with Tim and Chris Riley at the WPPI Tradeshow and got the opportunity to try out their product. All I have to say is that I am quick with LightRoom but their product helped me work even faster with my images. I am looking forward to testing more of their products and seeing how much time I can cut down on my workflow. Essentially RGP keys is a physical keyboard that plugs in to your computer USB port and a software that runs on the background allowing you to make adjustments to the images without even moving your mouse. Check them out here.

ImageNomic
If you have not heard of them, you need to check them out. They are a software company that creates plug-ins for Photoshop (some of their notable products are NoiseWare Professional) – noise reduction software that is just flat out great. The first time I used it, my jaw literally dropped, I was so impressed by what it can do.
Portraiture Professional – a skin softening software, normally it takes quite sometime to soften skin, however this program could do just that with in a matters of minutes. I will post some sample of this on my blog soon. Find out more about them here.

Otherwise, I had a great WPPI as a Speaker and a press photographer. A lot of walking and planning but, as always, it’s all good! By the way, I almost forgot to mention that I got 2 new Accolade of Excellence there as well.

A private civil ceremony between my friend Jessica and Aaron at the Santa Barbara Court House back last December. I know it took a while to post these up. Back in January I got a chance to meet with my friend Lucien Clergue at this gallery show opening at Louis Stern Fine Arts in Beverly Hills. Lucien is a well known and highly awarded French photographer who has such a great eye for tasteful fine art work. In this exhibit, he shared his images of Picasso with art connoisseurs, Picasso fans’ and just people who love fine art in general. Some of the images from the gallery opening are below.
